Weekly Reflection 2: Open Inquiry, WordPress

I felt a little overwhelmed at first trying to get my WordPress blog started. I can struggle at making decisions on the fly, and didn’t know how I should structure or name parts of it. I gave myself time after class to play around with editing and eventually understood how the categorization works.

Looking at previous students’ blogs, I got excited by how open the “Open Inquiry” can be. I felt like I had the chance to go deeper into something of my own interest and, in turn, build foundations to the kind of teacher I want to be. Integrating art and especially start-to-finish processes with natural mediums as a way of connecting to the land. The First Peoples’ Principles Learning have been a prominent resource for our learning as future educators and I wanted to use the Open Inquiry project as a way to integrate the principles into my own learning. My project is based around connecting with others, the land and myself through the creation of fibre arts.
